Club and Licensed Field Trials and Hunting Retriever Events
The MVHC sponsors several events throughout the year. There are club trials, licensed trials, club hunt tests, and licensed hunt tests.
The club trials are usually held on the second Sunday of the month during February, March, and April. Dogs compete in levels of competition based on their age and their ability. The club offers Open, Qualifying, Derby, Puppy and Hunter stakes at its club trials, providing enough dogs are present to run them. Dogs placing in these events accumulate points toward the annual award for the High Point Dog in each level, which is awarded at the Annual Awards Banquet.
The club holds two licensed field trials each year: one at the beginning of May and the other near the end of September. Points accumulated by placing in licensed events count toward the AKC Field Trial Champion (FC) and Amateur Field Trial Champion (AFC) titles. Our licensed events bring in competitors from around the country and are quite competitive.
The club holds two licensed Hunting Reriever Test each year: one at the beginning of June and the other near the end of August. Dogs competing in this event earn qualifying scores toward their Junior Hunter (JH), Senior Hunter (SH), and Master Hunter (MH) titles. Starting in year 2008 there will be an O/H Qualifying run with our June event.

April 13 (Field Trial format, with a puppy and hunters stake)
July 13th (Family fun day, Super Singles) Starts at 8:30 AM. – depending upon volunteers.

June 6-8 Entry Express

NO MOWING:
There should be NO mowing between May 1st and June 6th. VERY important for
Sandbur control.
